Get Involved

Rice University's Office of International Students & Scholars strives to keep our international community involved on campus, and we organize a variety of activities intended to help students, staff and faculty, as well as their families, make friends and build connections on campus. In addition to the events and programs that are listed under the "Events & Programs" menu, here are a few other ways you can get involved:

Student & Scholar Clubs – participate in the international clubs on-campus, they are a great way to get involved and to make Rice “feel like home”

The GREAT Project – The GREAT Project (Global RICE Empowers Academics & Training) is an outreach initiative of OISS to support Rice University’s mission (V2C2) to engage Houston in meaningful ways. The OISS seeks to offer our international students and scholars professional development opportunities through mentorship, sharing of their rich cultural backgrounds and imparting academic expertise. If you would like to volunteer for the GREAT Project, please contact OISS (oiss@rice.edu).

Internationally focused initiatives across Rice campus are constantly developing as interest, need, and opportunities arise. Some are country-specific, others are campus-wide initiatives specifically designed with the Rice international community in mind. For more information on country-specific initiatives at Rice, please contact OISS (oiss@rice.edu).
