CPT/OPT Workshops & OPT "Priority Processing"

OISS will hold several workshops on off-campus work authorization for F-1 students during the spring semester. For more information and a complete list of workshops, please see http://oiss.rice.edu/studentwork.

In addition, OISS is offering "Priority Processing" for early OPT applications for students graduating in May. If you submit the first part of your OPT application to OISS (i.e. Degree Completion Verification Form, I-765 & Statement of Understanding) by February 2nd, we guarantee that you can get a priority OPT I-20 pick-up appointment on the week of February 12th, which is the earliest time USCIS will allow you to send in your application. You definitely want to take advantage of this opportunity if

1. You would like to start your OPT employment soon after graduation, or
2. You would like to travel internationally between graduation and starting your OPT employment.

youarewelcomehereThe #YouAreWelcomeHere campaign started at Temple University with an aim of showing that American universities are welcoming places for international students even in the current political climate. Rice's #YouAreWelcomeHere video was created and filmed exclusively by three amazing Rice undergraduate international students, Andrew Keat (United Kingdom), Kiara Reyes Gamas (Mexico) and Nimi Wang (China). They truly made something special! We hope you enjoy it!
