Hurricane Season:
June - November is considered Hurricane Season in the U.S. This means that there is a higher likelihood of storms developing that could turn in to hurricanes. Always be prepared - download a Hurricane Preparedness Guide.
After Hurricane Ike's "visit" to Houston on September 12th, OISS sponsored a fundraiser to help those in our community who were severely impacted by the storm. The international students and scholars contributed greatly, both by donating funds to our fundraiser and by showing their appreciation to Rice University staff who did such a great job at getting campus back up and running so quickly.
