New international students - please visit our i-PREP webpage for details about your early arrival program that begins before O-Week, as well as lodging and transportation details. You are also welcome to contact any of the Peer International Advisors (PIA).
Special Programs for International Undergraduates:
International Liaison (IL) Pilot Program
Two International Liaisons will be assigned per college to help international peers adjust to life in the US. Look for the IL Owls to see who your contacts are in each college!

OISS Lunch Munch
Come join OISS for a weekly lunch in your servery! We'll be at a different servery each week to have lunch and great conversation about various topics. Look for us and our sign! You're welcome to come to each of our lunches, even if we're not in your servery that week!

Texas ID Trip
Yearly trip to DPS for first year undergrads to apply for a Texas ID card
*The total cost is expected to be around $22. There will be a $6 bus fee that must be paid at the OISS beforehand to receive a ticket for the bus. Tickets will be available starting Monday, October 4 on a first come, first serve basis. You will be given a ticket at the time of payment and you must have the ticket to board the bus.
Monday, October 11 or Tuesday, October 12
Buses will leave at 7:00 a.m.
What to Bring on the trip:
Original immigration documents
- ID page in passport
- Visa stamp in passport (this may pose a problem for Canadian citizens—please talk to the OISS staff ahead of time if you do not have a visa stamp in your passport)
- I-94 card. For F-1 and J-1 students, D/S should be indicated. If you are on a different visa category, you should have a defined date that has been issued for at least one year with at least six months of validity left
- I-20 or DS-2019 valid for at least 1 year into the future
Copies of ALL immigration documents above
$16 cash for the application fee
Ticket for bus (Tickets will be sold at OISS starting Tuesday, October 5 on a first come, first serve basis for $6)
